Set against the backdrop of Japan, Bokutachi no Yume (Our Dream) follows two rival samurai from opposing houses who find themselves destined to face one another in battle. As tensions rise and the two warriors prepare for their final confrontation, an unexpected revelation changes everything: beneath their opposing allegiances, they are childhood best friends, separated by time and circumstance. What begins as a battle between enemies becomes a poignant exploration of friendship, loyalty, and the conflict between personal identity and duty.
Inspired by traditional Japanese cinema, Bokutachi no Yume was filmed entirely on location in Japan during a cultural and filmmaking immersion trip with The Westminster Schools. Produced in a foreign language, the short film represents Sayers Vivid Productions' exploration of international filmmaking, drawing inspiration from Japanese storytelling traditions, cinematic techniques, and cultural influences.
